Our Vision

Our vision is to create a federation of schools where children succeed and are proud of their achievements. We strive to actively promote British values and prepare our children to become role models, thus preparing them for life in modern Britain. To do this, we create a respectful, inclusive atmosphere that is welcoming, fun, friendly and safe. We are a federation that nurtures curiosity and creativity through an inspiring, challenging and engaging curriculum, where learning is at the heart of all that we do. Our children learn to become resilient and self-assured in an environment where success is celebrated. Our ethos is delivered through these aims for our children:

• To teach tolerance and respect to all children. All children are valued individuals and should be respected.

• To encourage everyone to have high expectations of themselves in an environment where they can reach their personal best.

• To promote equality of opportunity and aim to develop the children’s awareness of moral, cultural, social and spiritual issues.

• To have engaging and challenging opportunities through a creative and inclusive curriculum within the school and beyond into the local community.

• To encourage excellence by sharing successes and supporting the children to reach their full potential.

Through the aims of the Federation, we actively promote lifelong learning whilst ensuring the children respect one another, enjoy their school experiences and achieve their personal best.

Newtons Primary School Governing Body

Mrs J Ward
Learning & Achievement Committee

I am very pleased and privileged to have recently been appointed as a parent Governor of The Growing Together Federation Governing Body.

I am married to Jason and we have one son in Reception Crowlands Primary School. I currently run a local website which provides parents with support and useful information about children’s services, groups and classes available in the Havering area but my background is firmly rooted in education.  I was a teaching assistant for 2 years in Northern Ireland and I have over 10 years’ experience as a primary teacher here in England. I have taught in 3 very different schools ranging from a small village primary school in Cambridgeshire to a large inner city school in Newham.  While teaching I held curriculum responsibilities for ICT, History and Outdoor Learning and have also experience in managing and coordinating educational visits across a school and in managing a school website.

I have a good understanding of the education system which I think will enable me to contribute positively to school life. I am committed to ensuring that our children have access to great learning opportunities which will help them to flourish and to reach their full potential. I feel passionately that the well-being of the whole school family, teachers, support staff and leaders, will create the very best learning environment for our children. I hope that in my time as a parent Governor I can have a positive impact and support the school to continue to grow and thrive.
