Our Vision

Our vision is to create a federation of schools where children succeed and are proud of their achievements. We strive to actively promote British values and prepare our children to become role models, thus preparing them for life in modern Britain. To do this, we create a respectful, inclusive atmosphere that is welcoming, fun, friendly and safe. We are a federation that nurtures curiosity and creativity through an inspiring, challenging and engaging curriculum, where learning is at the heart of all that we do. Our children learn to become resilient and self-assured in an environment where success is celebrated. Our ethos is delivered through these aims for our children:

• To teach tolerance and respect to all children. All children are valued individuals and should be respected.

• To encourage everyone to have high expectations of themselves in an environment where they can reach their personal best.

• To promote equality of opportunity and aim to develop the children’s awareness of moral, cultural, social and spiritual issues.

• To have engaging and challenging opportunities through a creative and inclusive curriculum within the school and beyond into the local community.

• To encourage excellence by sharing successes and supporting the children to reach their full potential.

Through the aims of the Federation, we actively promote lifelong learning whilst ensuring the children respect one another, enjoy their school experiences and achieve their personal best.

March 2020

Badminton:  In March we took a team of children to attend the Badminton Racket Festival at Hornchurch Sports Centre.  The children had the opportunity to learn new skills and work with older children to help develop their ability.  Newtons were lucky enough to be picked to represent Havering in the London Games.

February 2020

Quicksticks Hockey:  On Wednesday 12th February children from year 5 and 6 participated in a hockey competition at Coopers School.  All of the children tried their best and were a credit to our school.  Throughout the day they demonstrated our core value of Respect and as a result were rewarded with the respect award.  Well done to those children

Sitting Vollyball:  Our sitting Vollyball team participated in many games at Drapers Academy in Romford.  Our team played magnificently only losing one game and getting to the final.  In the final they lost by 3 points, they demonstrated fantastic teamwork and determination!  Well done!

January 2020

Boccia: A group of children between years 3 and 6 represented the school at the Havering Boccia competition held at the YMCA.  The children demonstrated excellent teamwork skills and played the game brilliantly.  They came 4th out of 18 teams!

December 2019

Panathlon:  A group of children were taken to the YMCA to compete in the Havering Panathlon.  Our children worked well together and cheered each other on!  Our team came second and enjoyed receiving their silver medals.

Bowling:  In December we took a group of our children to the bowling competition at Collier Row.  The children enjoyed trying a new sport and were a credit to our school!  A very enjoyable and fun sport to compete in!

November 2019

Tag Rugby:  Children from Year 5 & 6 represented Newtons at this year’s Tag Rugby event held at May & Baker.  There were a large number of primary schools within Havering that attended and the competition was very competitive.  We competed extremely well as a team demonstrating a great togetherness and resilience throughout the day - they were nice and muddy by the end of the day!

Netball League:  On a very cold and wet day in November the Netball A team attended the Netball league.  The team played well demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and dedication in very cold and wet weather!  A great effort from a great team.

October 2019:

High 5 Netball:  In September we attended the High-5 Netball competition held at Hornchurch High School.  Our children used their skills and strategy plan to play a number of games.  Well done to our Netball A team for making it to the 1/4 finals.

Cross Country:  A selection of children from year 3-6 attended the Havering Cross Country event held at Stubbers.  The children all paced themselves very well throughout their run and displayed great determination and commitment throughout the race.  A special mention to Kornelia who finished 20th out of 96 runners!  Well done to all the children involved.
